September 2018: Harvest Full Moon in Aries Ritual and Affirmations

September 24, 2018 Full Moon in Aries

Happy Fall Equinox loves. The fall equinox occurs once a year when the Sun crosses the celestial equator and day and night becomes equally long. It is a moment where the energetic shift can be physically measured. We are crossing over into a new air, a new energy, a new time -- we all feel it.

The Fall Equinox signifies more than a change of season, climate, and activity. It also marks the beginning of Libra season, the time of the scales. Libra season occurs every year from September 22 - October 23. It is a season represented by air and balance, the 7th sign(constellation) of the Zodiac. This season is known for it's focus on relationships, diplomacy, and associations. It is a time of great socialization, romance, and one-to-one connection.

Although Libra symbolizes relationships and diplomacy, there can be a delay in the happiness of Libra season until Sept.30 when Pluto leaves its retrograde station in Capricorn. Pluto's five month backward motion placement in Capricorn gave us the opportunity to make something out of nothing, to transform our traditions and values, to find balance between being and doing. Pluto's forward motion will clear the way for any lingering issues of responsibility, perseverance, organization, and reputation.

The September 24, 2018, Aries Full Moon kicks off Libra season with a bang as it sends us fire energy to go after our dreams. The Aries full moon snuggles closely to Jupiter in Scorpio creating opportunity for us to heal any residue fears of action, advancement, or progress. The Sun plays a major role in the full moon's energy as it communicates with Mercury in Libra sharing information on how to make the plan go smoother and clashes head-to-head with Uranus Rx in Taurus on where we must change, stand up, and release resistance.

What does this mean? How does this affect me?

The Full Moon symbolizes a time of completion, opportunity, and abundance. It is a time where our internal goals and needs are supported and manifested in our material realms of experience. The full moon represents illumination. It represents the cup full and runneth over, abundant and rich, secure and wild — it is the circle of life.

The September Aries Full Moon embodies the harvest of fall, the receiving of all that has been planted and sowed as the fullness starts its cycle through the wheel once again. It is a time where we are filled with the energy, motivation, and will-power to bring our goals, our needs, and our desires into reality — no more planning, it’s go time. After the fiery first quarter moon in Sagittarius, we are still ruminating over the ideas, projects, and relationships that stand in the way of our goal, but its time to let that go. It’s time to let go of the pain undone and called forth by Summer’s rain. What works? What doesn’t? Face the facts, illusion won’t save you here.

Resistance is the theme of this full moon as we continue to navigate through the limitations and barriers set up by Saturn in Capricorn. This increases our feelings of restraint — embrace it. Aries energy is busy, it is constant, it is chaos. This full moon sends us into some sort of frenzy, obsessed over an issue, person, place, or thing. This energy calls us to find our balance, to find the sails within to ride the waves of fire and air.

Although this is a fire full moon, it requires grounding energy. If we are to stay focused, if we are to fulfill our mission we must remain focused, we must remain balanced, we must find our peace within. With so much going on within and around us, it is important to stay connected to breath. If you find yourself overstretched, thinned, and exhausted, look at the areas where you constantly say yes. Are you overcommitting? Are you under resting? Place yourself first. Put yourself in the driver’s seat and give yourself permission to create space for rest, to create space for self, to create space.

Remember that this is the beginning of a new full moon cycle. Remember that Aries is the first cardinal sign. It doesn’t matter if you started this “thing” twenty years ago or two seconds ago, be patient, set your own pace.
