New Moon in Virgo 2019: Moonscopes for Every Sign

What is a new moon?

In astrology, the Moon represents our innermost emotional nature and subconscious mind. In relation to our natal chart the moon symbolizes the Mother, or a nurturing force in our life.

When working with the Moon for manifestation it is important to note that the Moon moves in cycles very similar to that of a woman. In astrology there are four main lunar phases that we tend to work with: the New Moon, First Quarter Moon, Full Moon, and Last (third) Quarter Moon. Each moon phase occurs on a seven-day interval making a complete lunar cycle typically four-weeks.

During the New Moon phase, the illuminated side of the moon is obscured (facing the sun). During this time we can only see the dark half of the moon. This is why it is called the New or Dark moon. The New Moon is represented by the conjunction between the Sun and Moon.

The New Moon phase is a time of dreaming. This phase is the perfect time to plant a new seed that you would like to see blossom over the duration of the lunar cycle. This period illuminates the subconscious mind and brings new ideas to the surface. However, this is not a time to expect overnight success. This is a dark moon. Others are not as receptive to change and new ideas, but it is a perfect time to start a new cycle or project that will gain traction under the illumination of the Full Moon. Think of this as the wait and see Moon.

Things to during a New Moon:

  • Be still and listen to your intuition. Receive any soul downloads with an open heart and mind.

  • Commit to starting a new cycle in your life.

  • Be optimistic but don’t be blind. Do not sign any contracts or jump into partnerships that sound over promising. Wait it out.

  • This is a test trial phase. If you want to experiment, this is the best time to do it. But don’t expect dramatic results. People tend to be in their own heads at this time. Your idea or launch may be easily misunderstood or disregarded. This same energy applies at the Last (Third) Quarter Moon.

August 2019 New Moon in Virgo

August 30, 2019 is a very busy day in the Cosmos, and it may be extremely difficult to maintain a peace of mind. However, the Super New Moon in Virgo grants us the liberation to start anew in the area of our chart that is ruled by Virgo.

The Virgo New Moon will form a conjunction to Mars in Virgo. This aspect aligns our internal desires (our emotions) with our external behaviors and impulses. This energy encourages us to take our daily actions more seriously. We may be guided to implement a more rigorous and consistent schedule surrounding health, wellness, and a healthy work/life balance. However, this should be implemented on a step-by-step basis. Virgo despises instability more than anything.

The Virgo New Moon will also form a square to Jupiter in Sagittarius. This energy intensifies our disgust for impulsive actions that do not align with the higher vision. However, this aspect provides an opportunity to be more intentional with the steps that we take to achieve this “higher” goal. If channeled in a positive direction this energy can create a serious breakthrough in an area of our lives that was once stuck, especially any interest or area of study that deals with foreign affairs and higher learning.

The Sun will also will begin its conjunction to Mars in Virgo. This energy influences us to not only think about making more practical decisions around our health, wellness, and daily routines, but to actually take the physical steps to do so. At first this energy can feel overwhelming as it showcases all the areas of our lives that are unrealistic and unstable, however, with time, patience, and efficient planning anything can happen. A Sun in Virgo trine to Uranus retrograde intensifies this progressive energy. Like it or not, a change is coming.

Moonscopes for the August 2019 Virgo New Moon:

For accuracy it is best to read your Rising/Ascendant horoscope first. After you have read your Rising/Ascendant horoscope you should read your Moon and Sun sign. Weave the three readings together to make a complete story.

Aries: Taking responsibility for my own actions is not a crime, it is a gift. I take an inventory of the areas of my life that feel scattered, overworked, and unrealistic. I implement routines that help me stay grounded and efficient in the best possible way. But I give myself permission to design a lifestyle that works for me, no matter how forward it may seem.

I trust in my own inner voice. I learn how to embrace efficiency. I know there is order in my madness and it’s my responsibility to find it. By doing this I learn to respect my personal boundaries at work and at home, especially those that negatively impact my health.

Taurus: Creativity can be practical. And I use the darkness of this New Moon to recognize the areas of my life that have become lifeless and rigid, driving me away from my inner artist and creative force. I make it a priority to trust my reinvention, knowing that my inner child wants to be free and efficient.

Being impulsive is not always productive, therefore I practice time-management and logic to schedule playfulness into my day. I trust that who I am is understood without explanation, and even when it’s not, that is okay.

Gemini: For me groundedness is a state of mind. Emotions come and go, but thoughts linger. I clear out any instability that is hiding within. And I address my need for material security. But before I can manifest what I desire in the physical world I must organize my home and address any imbalances in my immediate family.

I nurture my body, mind, and soul. I make it a priority to be still and listen to what it needs, then act accordingly.

Cancer: My local environment dictates what I feel, and when that is off balance so am I. So I use the darkness of this New Moon to address my thought process, how I talk, and who I talk to. If something no longer aligns I vow to let it go. I vow to speak my truth no matter the consequences, and to trust the practical aspects of my life that need to be addressed.

My daily movements matter, so I try my best to be more productive with my transportation, hobbies, and personal interests.

Leo:  Money is important. Material sustainability is important. But if I do not believe in my own self-worth and life force energy then it will never be enough. The sooner I learn to accept and embrace this concept the freer I will be. So I use the darkness of this New Moon to affirm new values of self-worth and material liberation. I affirm that my work is important, but so is my heart; so is my love and need for self-expression.

I give myself permission to be more than my limitations, more than my fears, more than what I can see.

Virgo: Who am I is not one-dimensional. I am many things and this is okay. It is my job and my duty to evolve and expand. Therefore I get out of my own head and allow transformation to occur. I give myself permission to explore new channels and live life more freely on my own terms. I use the darkness of this New Moon to unravel the hidden wounds and limiting self-belief patterns that tell me otherwise.

My destiny is unwritten. My path is unfolding. This is my rebirth and I surrender whole-heartedly to it.

Libra: Closure does not always mean death, and imagination does not always mean deception. Under the darkness of this New Moon I accept that stillness is required, surrender is required, discomfort is required. But underneath the fog is new life, new opportunities, new skills. This is just the preparation. So I vow to love the silence, the preparation and behind-the-scenes work that others do not always get to see.

My path is not ending it is beginning. In due time I will be born again.

Scorpio: Trusting in my gut and the beauty of the unforeseen future helps me bring my ideas down to the physical plane. Just because others do not understand me or what I am trying to do does not mean that I am wrong. However, I am open to expressing my ideas in the most efficient and practical ways, no matter how eccentric. To do this I must be willing to listen, to allow others to speak, and to share my resources accordingly.

I vow to be the highest version of myself and beliefs. I organize my thoughts and social initiatives. I see change through no matter what.

Sagittarius: Success comes when I am persistent, hard working, organized, and optimistic. Under the darkness of this New Moon I vow to take my work more seriously. I give myself permission to apply logic and analysis where I feel stuck or unseen. Because when I communicate from a place of humility and specialization new doors of leadership and social authority open for me.

I affirm that my career goals will flourish. And I vow to do the work to make sure that they do.

Capricorn: Travel does not always have to be physical, sometimes travel takes place within the limitlessness of the mind. Therefore I allow myself to step outside of my comfort zone and seek new opportunities of foreign travel, higher education, and spiritual evolution. I give myself permission to schedule more time for exploration and new experiences. Because when I am inspired anything is possible.

I vow to open my mind about what productivity  means to me. I use my persistence to teach and inspire others to do the same.

Aquarius: History is important. And I appreciate the foundation that others have gifted me, but I give myself permission to pave my own way. I give myself permission to explore the fabric of my own mind, daily lifestyle, and shared connections. I use the darkness of the New Moon to uncover the truth behind my intimacy. I explore and analyze the depth of my soul with brutal honesty, releasing the need to criticize and embracing the freedom of truth and acceptance.

I vow that this cycle is healing for me. Therefore I honor the needs of my body, mind, and soul whole-heartedly.

Pisces: Relationships are very important to me. Underneath the darkness of this New Moon I pay close attention to my relationship to Self and how that is expressed through others. I uncover the illusions that hold me back from establishing my desires in the physical plane. This includes the current state of my physical health and well-being. If I am not consistent in my wellness it will show up in how I treat myself and others, therefore I make my health a daily priority.

So I vow to honor my own needs. I commit to being grounded in the temptation of busyness.
