What Is A New Moon?
A new moon is the first lunar phase in a new moon cycle. It is a time where the moon is fully invisible to the human eye. A time when mother moon is at her farthest distance.
The new moon period symbolizes darkness. It symbolizes a time that is disillusioned and sometimes unbearable. But in our lowest we are fully submerged. We are aware that the only way is up.
A new moon phase is fertile soil. It represents a time of planting, of inserting, and soulful fishing. A moment to cast your net and wait.
What is A Cancer New Moon?
2018 Cancer New Moon is not one to be forgotten. This emotional partial solar eclipse highlights our need to cry, our need to swim, and our need to be covered in the healing powers of water. This eclipse is a three part eclipse series that began in 2017. This eclipse calls us to explore the depths of our own emotion and the fears we hold in defense. Ask yourself why you feel the way you do? Is it shame, is it fear, is it trauma? Whatever the reason, your emotional body is asking to be heard, it is asking to be felt, it is asking to be.
Grant your emotional self the permission to feel all that needs to surface. Allow the depths of your being to spill over into the sea of healing magic at this time. Where do you need to cry? Sometimes our tears are not literal. Sometimes our heart needs to sob, our feet need to pour out, our ears need to cleanse. Ask yourself where are you holding your energy? Don’t doubt your body when it replies. Listen to its cries. Honor its requests.
Cancer is the fourth sign of the Zodiac and is represented by water. Cancer’s symbol is also the crab. Underneath this potent dark sky, the crab asks us to crack open our shells. It asks us to bare our emotion so that it can be cleansed, purified, and set free. So that when the Sun leaves Cancer and enters Leo on July 22, our cleansing will be regenerated with fire, the fire of our soul.
