What is a full moon?

The Full Moon phase is a time of completion and intensity. This phase exposes the efforts of our intentions and how others (the universe) receives them. For many, the Full Moon phase can represent a heightened point of tension and restlessness. The Full Moon is the perfect time to expect answers and clarity. It’s important to understand that the Full Moon is an opposition formed with the Sun. Many will start this cycle feeling excited, but by the end will feel exhausted and worn out. Use this period to bring the effects of your intention to light.

Things to do under the Full Moon:

  • Ask for assistance on a situation that you need clarity on.

  • Try to stay calm and understand that things are coming into fruition.

  • Be open to experience the fullness of this moment.

  • Be patient with others as we are all on edge and more emotional than usual.

  • Celebrate. No matter what does or doesn’t happen this cycle is perfect for gatherings and group activities. Do not take everything so serious.

  • Hidden secrets are coming out of the dark. Be honest and observe.

The 2019 Full Moon in Gemini:

The Gemini 2019 Full Moon is the last full Moon in this decade. It will occur on December 12, at 12:12 AM EST. The effects of the Full Moon will be felt the most four days prior and after it reaches its peak. The Gemini Full Moon highlights the mental patterns, paradigms, and behaviors we are ready to expand and release.

With the Gemini Moon square Neptune in Pisces, we are breaking free of self-limiting beliefs, behaviors, and relationships. This energy is intensified with Venus conjunct both Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn.

With the Full Moon sitting opposite Mercury and the Sun in Sagittarius, be mindful of the words that you speak and the actions you take. Many will respond to subconscious impulses and triggers; it may be time to clear a toxic cycle. This is intensified by Chiron’s direct station on the 13th.

On a higher note, The Gemini Full Moon exposes the possibility of the infinite future. If you feel left behind, confused, isolated, or disconnected, the optimism of Sagittarius will eventually shine through, you just have to be patient.

Things to expect during the Gemini Full Moon:

  • A deeper desire to learn and study.

  • An increase in idle conversations and gossip.

  • A strong feeling of indecision or immense clarity.

  • A desire to dive deeper into higher states of consciousness

  • . A strong feeling that the darkness is lifting and light is all around you.

  • A release of negative childhood patterns and relational behaviors.

  • Intuitive healing and integration with your shadow self.

  • Strong urges to write, speak, and communicate your truth.

  • The unveiling of ancient secrets and forgotten memories.

Ritual for the Full Moon in Gemini:

Clear your mind: before you start any ritual you should meditate and get still. Because Gemini is an air sign and appreciates imagination, today’s ritual asks that you put those writing and drawing skills to work.

Write a letter to your present self: As we end the decade, observe where you are now. It may be helpful to draw a brain and divide it into two. The left side of the brain will represent your present fears, tension, and worry; what you are releasing into the air. The right side of the brain will represent your present hopes, intention, and dreams; what you are manifesting/attracting into your life.

Once you have a clear visual of where you are mentally, meditate on it. What do you feel? What does your soul need to say on the paper that you may be afraid to say out loud? When I wrote my letter, I vented and cried all over the paper. It was very healing to say what I was afraid to admit to myself. There’s something powerful about seeing it in black and white.

Write a letter to your future self: Now move on to the letter to your future self. It may be better to do this a few days after the full moon, once things have cleared and settled. Imagine yourself one year from now, really try to see it. What does your hair look like? Where are you living? Who are you around? Are you dating, married, in love with yourself? What does your job feel like? What emotions do you want to feel? Really try to feel it rather than think about it, the body responds innately to your emotions and frequency.

Now draw a visual of your energy, whatever you imagine and desire for it feel and look like.

Once you’ve drawn your energy, draw a magnetic grid around it. Write your letter inside the grid. It can be words, affirmations, mantras, anything that resonates the energy you are moving into your atmosphere.

Here’s an example of mine.

If you have more to say, write a short letter to yourself underneath your visual. Every word counts.

Burn the letter to your present self. You don’t need to be reminded. But save your letter to yourself. Read it on the next Gemini Full Moon.

Horoscopes for the Gemini Full Moon:

Aries: The Gemini Full Moon encourages you to let go of your mental tension and anxiety. Full Moons intensify and expose. You may come into a thought pattern or old memory that you would rather avoid or suppress. With Chiron stationing direct and Venus conjunct Pluto and Saturn, you have no choice but to move forward. Although challenging and in moments confusing, this transit inspires a mental breakthrough like no other. Allow your mind to be cleansed so you can enter this new decade with clarity and ease.

Taurus: Finances are typically not an issue for you, but the Gemini Full Moon brings the reality of your situation into the light. What values and beliefs do you hold around income? How well are you communicating your present situation with those closest to you? If you are in a state of flux, be honest about where you are. It may be time that you share the responsibility and financial burden instead of taking everything on yourself. Although this transit could be frustrating and affect your self-esteem, don’t lose hope. Taking a risk by trusting the process and surrendering to what you cannot change will bring you the peace of mind and stability you are seeking. Learn to go with the flow.

Gemini: With the Full Moon occurring in your sign, this transit brings a surplus of energy into your life. Some may find this intensity and overwhelming. It may feel so intense that you want to crawl out of your skin, but find ways to channel this energy. Whatever is coming to light is meant to be exposed at this time. Be honest with yourself and your overall direction. Where is your heart leading you? What do you visualize when you dream of your future? The next six months will project the course of the next ten years, so be deliberate about the choices and risks you take. Even still, enjoy the illumination of the moon in your sector. Cleansing emotionally, you get a restart in an important area of your life, especially your work and family life. Enjoy it.

Cancer: The Full moon illuminates a painful ending in your life, Cancer. But with every end comes a new beginning. Most likely this ending will take place in your heart, spirit, and mind. Something you thought was a sure thing is no longer, but what is this “loss” making space for? Will you fill this void with the same patterns, thoughts, and behaviors? Or will you let the void within fill itself, planting new seeds for prosperity and emotional connection? Embracing the shift occurring in your mind is the best way to ensure that you are moving in the right direction. You may have a strong urge to turn back, to make sure that you are doing the right thing, but only time will tell. Trust in your belief system. Surrender to your faith.

Leo: A group project or collaboration comes deeper into the light under the Gemini Full Moon, especially if it involves communication, writing, and community support/initiatives. Although you are still unsure of the outcome, keep sharing your light the best way you know-how. With the Moon opposite Sagittarius, you may experience your ego and personality in a new way. Use this illumination to observe your beliefs about your gifts and overall life purpose. Silence your mind and tune in to the heart. What does love say? What does compassion bring? Follow the light, there’s no need to chase darkness.

Virgo: Communication and tension at work will most likely increase, bringing you into contact with a diverse group of personalities. Although you do not relate to Gemini’s instability, you admire Gemini’s intensity of thought and fine attention to detail. But even still, you need to look at what is happening under the surface. Co-workers and siblings may conflict with your long-term career goals or plans, and you need to be honest about how this affects you in the long run. A major shift in your trajectory is occurring and how it plays out involves your mindset.

Libra: Growth takes place in the mind, Libra. Before you can manifest anything in the material world you have to first believe it is possible. If you are anxious to study, travel, or experience something new, imagine it first. Play with visualization and manifestation techniques. Do you need to write out your dreams? Say them aloud and record them? Find ways to release the chains you have placed on your own mind. With Venus conjunct Saturn and Pluto, you may feel confined or restricted by your family or place of residence, but that is just an excuse. Stop waiting for others to save you. Set yourself free.

Scorpio: A lack of intimacy or change in partnership will throw you for a loop. But don’t stress what you cannot control. Your greatest power is your intuitive mind. If you feel lost, confused or betrayed, listen to your spirit. What does your heart say? What does your soul know? Tuning in to the inner compass of your mind releases you from any karmic or past life soul ties that may be dragging you down. Much of your anxiety and worry comes from your stubborn mind and resistance to mental change. But acceptance and surrender are all it takes to break free of this mental grip. Listening to music or checking in with your favorite healer is helpful now. Support is all around you.

Sagittarius: As much as you love spontaneity, a relationship issue may surprise you and bring you to your knees. Instead of being angry, respond humbly. How do you view and classify relationships? What are your expectations? If anything, you may need to review your communication skills and way of expression. Sometimes you come across harsh or cold, Sag. This is hard for some people to absorb. But instead of placing blame or playing victim, accept this realization. From acceptance and honesty, you can rebuild what was broken in a much stronger way. It just takes honesty, communication, and an open mind. You are loved and supported!

Capricorn: How you visualize and communicate your needs on a professional level is changing. The Gemini Full Moon encourages you to be more bold and deliberate in your delivery. You have an excellent creative and intuitive mind, Capricorn, but insecurity, self-doubt, and childhood trauma cause you to suppress it. Even though you believe that silence is power, sometimes it pays to speak out. If you are someone who deals with childhood trauma, this transit forces you to address it. Issues with a parent or child and your identity may come up. Give yourself permission to be who you really are (this goes for your children as well).

Aquarius: This transit brings up the notion of self-love and healthy communication between your soul and ego. Emotionally, you will feel all over the place. But underneath the chaos is a deep sense of inner peace and flowing in the right direction. How can you step deeper into this unraveling? How do you express your love to the person in the mirror? Writing a love letter to yourself is a healthy way to remind your spirit that you are beautiful and in alignment. Many will come into a deeper appreciation for their creative gifts and people skills. Don’t hold back all the love you have to give. You are worthy of the love that you emit.

Pisces: This transit highlights your realization and concept of home and family. What does home mean to you? What does family mean to you? You may come into a verbal disagreement or temporary separation, but this rift will not last. Instead, this moment of tension encourages you to rely more on your own mind and way of thinking. Although others inspire you, you are your own source of divinity and creation. You do not need others to feel whole, recognized, and seen. This doesn’t mean dive deeper into the narcissistic episodes of ego, but to embrace the interdependent power dwelling within you.
