Scorpio is a fixed water sign. It represents the feminine components of yin energy, the right side of the brain. Together Scorpio and Venus are possessive, passionate, and sometimes envious. Scorpio desires control and Venus needs connection. Venus will be in Scorpio until October 31st and we should use this long transit to uncover the deepest parts of ourself. The First Quarter Moon is the second major phase of the lunar cycle. It represents a period of balance, illumination and darkness and fullness and void. When the Moon is waxing and half-lit we are conscious of the path and it’s unfoldment — the seeds of the new moon are sprouting and a sense of direction overcomes us. The FQ Moon is a time of ripeness and productivity. We feel inspired and courageous motivating us to walk closer and implement the first phases of the dream. Although this period can be productive it is best to pace yourself and be realistic about what is to be expected and accomplished in this fluctuating time.

The September FQ Moon occurs in the 9th constellation of the Zodiac Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign whose polarity is yang, the masculine essence and left side of the brain. When the FQ Moon occurs in Sagittarius we are reminded of the deep lessons of last months Scorpio FQ Moon. Instead of imagining new ways to transform we are blessed with the optimism of Sagittarius to see them through. Our vision is expansive, non-traditional, and creative. August 2018: Scorpio First Quarter Moon and Cleansing Water Ceremony

On August 18, 2018, the moon is half full. It is waxing and growing brighter in illumination. When the moon is waxing into fullness we are most aware of our desires and needs to grow. We see the future just as we begin to receive open doors on how to get there. The First Quarter Moon phase is the most fertile time of the lunar cycle. It is the moment where we work in our budding gardens to reap the abundance of last quarter moon's harvest. 

The First Quarter Moon occurs in misty Scorpio. This FQM is deep, intense, and sensual. It tickles our most sensitive soft spots so that we can peacefully move through them to build a sturdy foundation on solid ground. Relationships and shared resources are highlighted under this waxing moon. It foreshadows sporadic group ventures, testy joint investments, and outlandish community healing. 

Creative projects that involve shared resources, community facilities, water, mysticism, occult knowledge, and deep spiritual practice will be highlighted and favored. Scorpio is often symbolized as a grieving or over-attached mother. Mother related issues or experiences may surface during this time. 

During this period it is best to connect with your emotional and spiritual body. Mediation, yoga, acupuncture, massage, blood cleansing, detox, and foot baths are very useful and received well at this time. 

If possible be near the ocean or the sea. Scorpio is governed by Pluto, the planet of death and transformation. This period is excellent for baptism and healing ceremonies.

To add more intensity to your ceremony imagine that all negativity and deadweight is draining from your body and consciousness as you watch the healing water empty into the drain.

To begin: go into your higher state and ground your center. Take a charged bath or shower with the intention of washing all impurities. If possible, use anatural oil based soapor salt. Imagine that you are being cleansed and renewed for illumination on next week's full moon in Pisces. Becuase Scorpio is a sign of depth and eroticism, it may be helpful to set the mood with candles, incense, crystals, ancestral artifacts, lights, and darkness. **** if you plan on drinking this potion please store in refrigerator or cooler. 

Once you have taken your bath, charge a mason jar or glass pitcher of balanced water with blood cleansing herbs, roots, and oils. For this ceremony herbs such as nettle leaf, burdock root, dandelion root, spirulina, and raspberry leaf work well. You will charge this water now for ingestion next week. Place all your hopes, intentions, wishes, dreams, manifestations, fantasies, and desires into the water. Unleash all you tell yourself is impossible. Let it wash its way to the surface. Once you are done label and seal the container. Store in dark resting place until next week. Do not open.

Once you are into a relaxed meditative state, imagine you are a tree. Imagine your tree has bright colors and each color represents a part of you. Now allow this tree to release upon you. Do not give it any instructions, just follow it, observe, you are not the teacher -- you are the student. 

Visualize the roots of the tree. What do they look like? What do they feel like? What are they connected too? What do the colors mean? How does each color make you feel? Does anyone's face come up? What thoughts come when you think about the roots of your tree? Can you identify the source of your roots? 

Spend no more than 5 minutes with your tree and then return to your breathe. 

Take several deep breathes with the intention to come back peacefully into your conscious body. 

When you feel called...Return. 

Journal, Paint or Express to Self what you experienced. 

The Ceremony: 

Once you have completed the meditation, go spend a minimum of 30 minutes connected with Earth. Use this sacred time to reflect on your rooting journey and its messages.

Place three cups in front of you. Fill two with water.

Now imagine yourself as your future self, your present whole self that is awaiting your awareness.

Ask yourself what does this self feel like. What does this self look like. What actions does this self take.

Now sing, speak, dance, express those intentions into the water. Infuse your loving positive energy as one.

Once you are ready say a prayer, a mantra, or whatever comes up for you over the empty cup.

Send it blessings, miracles, and compassion. Allow it to understand that you are present in this space and all that you are intending is with love.
